Local storage of data
Ideally, a Mobile App should also be able to operate when it is not currently connected to the
network. In other words, it should be able to operate while "disconnected". To achieve this, data
that it may need to work may have to be available on the device. To achieve that, the application
will need mechanisms to both store ands retrieve such data.
By the nature of mobile apps, there is also a new problem. The device on which the mobile app is
hosted may be lost or stolen. This implies that any data associated with the app will no longer be
under control. When storing data, we need a mechanism to encrypt that data such that it can't be
examined on a compromised device.
